Nutrition Counseling for Teens

Are you worried about your child's eating?

Have you noticed they aren't eating the same foods they used to enjoy? Do mealtimes feel tense? Does your child not have energy for their usual activities? Maybe their eating seems erratic, with your teen skipping meals then eating what seems like a large amount all at once?

You might be wondering if this is just a phase, or if it’s a more serious problem – could it be an eating disorder? How do you know when to intervene? The more you try to help, the more they seem to push you away.

You’ve heard eating disorders are serious, and you might feel scared about what this could mean for your child.

Even if your teen doesn't have a clinical eating disorder, they may still be struggling with food and body image in ways that could lead to more serious issues down the line.

As a dietitian with experience in eating disorders for both young people and adults, I have seen just how pivotal teen years are for shaping life-long eating behaviors. The relationship they establish with food and with their bodies now can affect them for the rest of their lives.
This is why I'm so passionate about working with young people. It’s an incredibly powerful time to intervene and get them the support they need.
