Frequently Asked Questions

What will the initial assessment look like?

This will be an opportunity to thoroughly explore goals, history, and current behaviors and patterns. Prior to the initial session you will complete a comprehensive intake including sleep, physical activity, relevant lab values from recent doctor’s appointments, medical history, any medications or supplements you are currently taking, work schedule, etc. In the first session, we will review the intake and begin to unpack, skill-build, and plan around areas of concern. You will leave the first session with a plan that will include a list of recommendations and resources. And I will of course be available for ongoing support depending on your situation and needs.

Will I get support between sessions?

Yes, I offer brief weekly touch points via e-mail between sessions for ongoing support.

How many follow-up sessions will I need?

This really depends! Follow-up sessions are an opportunity to dig deeper and peel back more of the layers surrounding relationship with food and eating behaviors. They facilitate ongoing learning and keep you connected to support. The frequency of meetings will depend on our schedules and how often we both feel would make sense for you. In the beginning, frequency is typically every other week or once a month. Beyond that, it may feel best for you to check in on an ad-hoc basis, when you feel you need it.

What ages do you work with?

I work with adults and families with children of all ages. For teenagers on a journey of eating disorder recovery, I require parent involvement, and only see teens ages 16 and older. It is important to me that we both agree that I am a good fit. If you have any questions about this, please e-mail me. If needed, I can always connect you with other resources or dietitians.

What is your availability?

I currently see patients on Thursdays and Fridays.

Can you work with my other providers?

Absolutely. Outcomes are strongest when your team is communicating and aligned, whether that means working with your doctor, therapist, or other providers. I will coordinate with your team as needed.

Are your appointment virtual or in-person?

I currently offer virtual appointments through HIPPA-secured telehealth platform.
